Former Pakistan National Cricket Team pacer Shoaib Akhtar lashed out at the Shan Masood-led side for losing the first Test against England National Cricket Team. He said that he has seen a decline in the team over the year, and the situation is very disappointing.

Pakistan National Cricket Team faced a lot of criticism after their humiliating loss against the England National Cricket Team in the first game of the three-match Test series. They bagged an innings and 47 runs loss at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan.

The loss came as a big disappointment to the Pakistan team because they were on top of the game in the first two days. Batting first, they posted a total of 556 runs on the board with Shan Masood (151), Agha Salman (104*), and Abdullah Shafique (102) hitting tons and Saud Shakeel (82) playing a vital hand as well.

It seemed that would be enough, but England came up with a gigantic effort with the bat. They made a mockery of the Pakistan bowling attack, with Harry Brook (317) slamming a triple century and Joe Root (262) hitting a double century that took their team to 823/7.

Pakistan then came up with a poor batting effort in the second innings. England bowlers were all over them as they bundled them out for 220 to win the game by an innings and 47 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Jo boyenge wo kaatenge (You will reap what you sow) - Shoaib Akhtar

Shoaib Akhtar took a dig at the Pakistan team, saying that they will reap what they sow. He pointed out that losing is part of the game, but they should've been close, they lost hope in the last two days. Speaking to PTV Sports, he explained:

"Jo boyenge wo kaatenge (You will reap what you sow). Over the decades, I have seen the decline. The situation is disappointing. Losing is fine, but the game should be close. However, what we saw over the past two days, they completely gave up hope. This shows that we aren’t good enough. England scored 800+ and Bangladesh also beat you."

Fans are saying that Pakistan should stop playing Test cricket - Shoaib Akhtar

Shoaib Akhtar further mentioned that people are demanding that Pakistan should stop playing Test cricket. He also urged the Pakistan Cricket Board to stop this mess. He elaborated:

“Fans are saying that Pakistan should stop playing Test cricket. I saw some comments. ICC must be thinking, ‘Should we send teams to Pakistan and keep their Test status alive’. It’s just disheartening. This is going to hurt Pakistan cricket, fans and the upcoming talents. I want to request the PCB to sort out this mess."

If your management and captain are weak, there will be groups - Shoaib Akhtar

Shoaib Akhtar further added that the culture in the Pakistan Team isn't right. He believes that there will be groupism in the team if management and captain are weak and added that this has been the culture since his playing days. He added:

“If your management and captain are weak, there will be groupism. If the captain is selfish, there will be groups. The same is the case if the coaches are afraid of the captain. The captain calls the shot when it comes to selection. This has been the culture since my playing days,” Shoaib Akhtar concluded.
