Shoaib Akthar Shows His Interest To Buy Lahore Qalandars Franchise

Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akthar was disappointed with the way the Lahore Qalandars have been managed this season and he wanted to take on the ownership of the side. Lahore Qalandars are currently placed fifth in the points table with five wins from ten games and their poor net run rate has just ruled them out of the playoff contention.

Having started the tournament really well, Lahore Qalandars have lost four matches in a row in the sixth edition in UAE. With stars like Rashid Khan, James Faulkner, and Mohammad Hafeez on the side, they haven’t been able to get the best results, and they have been outplayed in all the departments. They made the finals in the previous edition and a lot was expected in this season from them.

Shoaib Akthar Ready To Take On The Ownership

Shoaib Akthar mentioned in an interview with Crickwick that if the Lahore Qalandars owners are ready to sell their team, he will be happy to buy the franchise and even rename it as Lahore express to change some fortunes of the franchise. He criticized the management for not being serious enough about cricket and claimed that they are wasting the brand of Lahore.

“I told Rana brothers to sell me your team I’ll rename it as Lahore express and change the management. These owners and management aren’t serious about cricket, they are wasting the Lahore brand,” said Shoaib Akthar who bowled the quickest delivery ever in international cricket.

Lahore Qalandars Skipper Under The Scanner

Lahore Qalandars skipper Sohail Akthar was under the scanner for taking a review that was very obvious on the eyes. He used the DRS review against Quetta Gladiators which was criticized in the end as there was clear evidence of bat involved. It was such a strange decision from the captain of the side and the fans did not lot like it though.
