Former Pakistan skipper Shoaib Malik, who currently serves as a TV host for a Pakistani show called 'Har Lamha Purjosh,' has been accused of making sexually offensive statements about former Pakistani wicket-keeper batter Kamran Akmal, that too on LIVE TV.
Controversies and Pakistanis never keep distance, and for Shoaib Malik, he has loved to be part of the controversies over the years. Amid the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2026, Pakistan have already been struggling with several controversies, of which the most intense has been the contradiction of opinion between their own cricketers.
Shoaib Malik's comment on Kamran Akmal
Former Pakistan wicket-keeper batter Kamran Akmal has recently been subjected to sexually offensive remarks from one of his former teammates and another expert on a panel for a renowned TV show on ARY News, Har Lamha Purjosh.
It all started when Shoaib Malik started the conversation, asking one of the panellists on the show about what he was beginning to say. He immediately pulled out an offensive joke against Kamran, and Malik supported him with another remark.
“Nabeel bhai, you were about to say something,” asked show host and former Pakistan captain, Shoaib Malik, to one of the expert panellists on the show.
He answered, "There was a bit of confusion; I was looking at his [Kamran Akmal's] jacket, the pink jacket he is wearing, if he would wear the same pink jacket in America, they would have called him some other name." The panellist directly targeted Kamran Akmal's suit.
What shocked the internet further was the reaction of the former captain and show host, Shoaib Malik.
"But right now, I am wearing it in Pakistan; you can’t say it here. In America, they would say, he is looking cute,” said Akmal in his rebuttal. However, Malik did not let the matter slide with it and continued: “You can understand or say the same to him here [in Pakistan] as well,” which was followed by a burst of laughter in the studio.
Pakistan players have had recent on-air clashes during this T20 World Cup
Pakistan cricket's regular analysis on several channels, social media platforms and other streaming platforms as well has taken an interesting turn, as the panellists, who are well-known figures, have fought against each other.
One of the latest such conflicts was marked between former Pakistani all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez and the former legendary spinner Saqlain Mushtaq. It started when Hafeez said that Mohammad Nawaz does not possess the abilities for his role in the team, and the former spinner came to his defence.
Pakistan knocking at the exit doors in the ICC T20 WC 2026
Pakistan is knocking at the exit doors of the ICC T20 World Cup after having lost its second Super-8 match in the contest. They could not compete in the first game, as it was washed away by rain without a single ball being bowled against New Zealand.
They will now have to win their next game against Sri Lanka, and on the other hand, would also have to hope that England registers a win over New Zealand. The team's hope to qualify for the semi-finals has faced a further dent after New Zealand registered a massive 61-run victory over Sri Lanka.
