Veteran Pakistan all-rounder Shoaib Malik is going to miss the third T20I of the ongoing series against Bangladesh, scheduled for Monday. The right-hander will fly back to Dubai before the game to attend to his unwell child, the PCB said in a release.

Pakistan have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series with a game to spare.

Shoaib Malik was run-out for a 3-ball duck in the first T20I and didn’t get to bat in the second match. He was also a crucial part of Pakistan’s run to the semi-final at the T20 World Cup, where they were knocked out by Australia after winning all 5 matches in the Super 12.

Following the conclusion of the series, the T20I squad will depart Dhaka for Pakistan via Dubai on Tuesday. Usman Qadir and Imad Wasim will spend a couple of days in Dubai with their families, the PCB revealed.

Pakistan and Bangladesh will then play two World Test Championship matches. The Chittagong Test will commence from 26 November, and the second Test will be played in Dhaka from 4-8 December.

The Test side will travel to Chittagong on Tuesday. Bowling consultant Vernon Philander will leave the side at the completion of the first Test as he was available for the three T20Is and the first Test.

Mustafizur Rahman is in doubt for the third T20I

Bangladesh are dealing with an injury concern to pacers Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam. Mustafizur has picked two wickets in two matches in the series and could be rested from the third T20I.

”Mustafizur felt a sudden pain in his side during his second over of bowling today. He will be reassessed again tomorrow and a decision will be made on whether he will be match-fit for the final T20 international of the series,” said the BCB in a statement.

A BCB official close to the team management confirmed to Cricbuzz that Shoriful Islam also sustained a groin injury in that match.

“He got a groin injury and we are waiting to see his condition at night,” said the official.

Bangladesh have added uncapped opener Parvez Hossain and seamer Kamrul Islam Rabbi to the squad for the last T20I. According to Cricbuzz, the team management asked Saif Hassan to leave the team hotel and join the Test probables in Chattogram on Sunday.
