Shaheen Afridi continues to hog the limelight for all the wrong reasons. Things have not gone well for the Pakistan pace spearhead this year and he could land in more trouble after the recent allegations of misbehaving with the coaches.

The left-arm pacer has been under the scanner for quite some time now as he has failed to perform well. He faced criticism from several quarters at the very beginning of the year for not playing the Sydney Test against Australia. It was followed by a 4-1 loss against New Zealand in T20Is under his captaincy.

He had a disappointing outing in the Pakistan Super League as well. Under his captaincy, Lahore Qalandars finished at the bottom of the points table with just 1 win from 10 games. Soon after the PSL, he was replaced by Babar Azam as Pakistan's T20I captain.

Shaheen Afridi had the opportunity to answer his critics in last month's T20 World Cup but he failed to live up to the expectations. In 4 games, he picked up 5 wickets with 3 of them coming in one match. He went wicketless against the USA before taking 1 wicket against India as Pakistan lost both games and eventually bowed out of the tournament at the group stage.

Shaheen Afridi accused of misbehaving:

According to a recent report from Pakistani news outlet Geo News, Shaheen Afridi misbehaved with the coaches and management during the tours of Ireland and England, just before the T20 World Cup. However, no action was taken against him by the team managers.

The responsibility of maintaining discipline in the team was on the managers but they failed to do so. It is one of the main reasons why the Pakistan Cricket Board recently sacked team manager Mansoor Rana. The PCB also parted ways with former players Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq who were serving as selectors.

The PCB is currently investigating why no action was taken against Shaheen Afridi despite his poor conduct. The report further stated that the players who formed lobbies in the team are also under the scanner.

Meanwhile, PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi recently met Pakistan's red-ball coach Jason Gillespie, and white-ball coach Gary Kirsten in Lahore. The PCB stated that the chairman has given both coaches a free hand to deal with the players.
