During the India vs Bangladesh Women’s Asia Cup 2026 semi-final match, the India Women’s National Cricket Team spinner N Shree Charani broke several milestones after she picked her first wicket in the game. She has been in brilliant form throughout this year and was India’s best performer with the ball in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026.

Shree Charani break several records vs Bangladesh
Shree Charani reached her 50-wicket milestone during the 5.3th over after she dismissed Juairiya Ferdous, with Richa Ghosh taking a simple catch. The Bangladesh opener tried to up the run rate and played the wrong shot as she tried to play across the line, top-edged the ball, and the wicket-keeper ran to the ball and took a simple catch.
After picking up the wicket, she broke several milestones, as she became the second-youngest Indian to get 50 wickets in Women's T20Is. Shree Charani achieved the milestone in 22 years, 37 days, and with Radha Yadav tops the list for the youngest to achieve 50 wickets for India with 20 years, 334 days.
Charani also became the third-joint fastest to 50 wickets in Women’s T20Is (by matches). She is also now the joint-leading wicket-taker for India in a calendar year, sharing the record with Poonam Yadav with 35 wickets each. She has the chance to surpass the record in this game with plenty of the match remaining.

Shafali Verma scores a brilliant fifty
Coming to the match, Bangladesh captain Nigar Sultana Joty won the toss and opted to field first. India had a decent start in the form of Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma. But the former had yet another low score as she was dismissed for just 2 runs; Shafali Verma, who was dropped twice, repaid the Bangladesh team by scoring 56.
Pratika Rawal, who scored 20 runs. Harmanpreet Kaur struggled to score runs in the initial phase, scored some runs in the latter phases as she was unbeaten on the score of 24 runs, and towards the end, Richa Ghosh scored 21 off 16 balls, and Deepti Sharma scored 13 runs off 6 deliveries. As they posted 149/6, Sultana Khatun picked up two wickets.
Bangladesh in trouble
Bangladesh's chase did not have the best of starts. After a decent first-wicket partnership of 26-runs, they kept on losing wickets and are currently 95/5 with just 2.4 overs to spare. Amidst this Deepti Sharma was involved in a heated exchange with the Bangladesh captain.
A win for Bangladesh is looking very grim as Harmanpreet Kaur's side has a strong hold on the game and has kept one leg in the final.
