Shreyas Iyer among players nominated for ICC Player of the Month Award for March 2025

The International Cricket Council (ICC) revealed the nominees for the Men's and Women's Player of the Month awards for March 2025 on Tuesday, April 8. In the men’s category, India’s Shreyas Iyer has been shortlisted alongside New Zealand duo Jacob Duffy and Rachin Ravindra for their performances.
Two Australian cricketers and a United States of America (USA) player have been nominated for the Women’s Player of the Month for March 2025. Australian players Annabel Sutherland and Georgia Voll, along with USA’s Chetnaa Prasad, are in the race to win the prestigious award for their performance in March.
Shreyas Iyer Among Players Nominated for ICC Player of the Month Award
Shreyas Iyer was a crucial player in India’s middle-order during their victorious ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign. He amassed 172 runs in three ODIs played in March at an impressive average of 57.33. The right-handed batter also finished as India’s highest run-scorer in the ICC tournament.
India went on to win the tournament unbeaten. Iyer scored a vital 79 against New Zealand in the group stage, followed by 45 in the semi-final against Australia. He anchored the chase with a calm 48 in the final against New Zealand. His presence at the crease proved instrumental to India’s success.
Two New Zealand Stars Nominated for ICC Player of the Month Award
Jacob Duffy played a key role in New Zealand’s 4-1 T20I series win over Pakistan. Duffy was the leading wicket-taker with 13 scalps at an impressive average of 8.38 and an economy of 6.17. He delivered match-winning spells, including career-best figures of 4/14 in Christchurch and 4/20 in Mount Maunganui.
The fast bowler moved to the No. 1 spot in the ICC Men’s T20I bowling rankings. Duffy also picked up two wickets in the opening ODI of the series, finishing March with 15 wickets in six matches.
Rachin Ravindra helped the BlackCaps reach the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final. The left-handed batter amassed 151 runs in three ODIs at an average of 50.33 and a strike rate of 106.33, while also taking three wickets with an economy of 4.66.
Rachin scored a crucial 108 and shared a 164-run stand with Kane Williamson in the semi-final against South Africa. The young cricketer was not included in the white-ball series against New Zealand due to IPL 2025 commitments.
USA’s Chetnaa Prasad Among Nominees for ICC Women’s Player of the Month
Chetnaa Prasad was a top performer for the USA during the Women’s T20 World Cup Americas Region Qualifier. The 19-year-old picked up nine wickets in three games at an average of just 2.22. She began with figures of 4/8 against Brazil and wrapped up with a game-changing 4/5 in the win over Canada.
Annabel Sutherland, who won the Player of the Month title in December 2024, picked up eight wickets at an average of 8 across the final two T20Is against New Zealand. With the bat, she also contributed a crucial unbeaten 23 off 15 deliveries in the second T20I of the three-match series.
Georgia Voll was also part of Australia’s 3-0 T20I sweep over New Zealand. The 21-year-old opener finished as the second-highest run-getter in the series with 161 runs. She kicked off the series with a quick 50 off 31 balls, added 36 off 20 in the second game, and ended with a career-best 75 off 57 balls.
