As per the latest reports, the BCCI is set to offer positive news for Shreyas Iyer, who has been in outstanding form.
Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan were dropped from the BCCI Central Contract in 2024. The Board of Control for Cricket in India took this decision after they did not fulfill their domestic cricket commitments.
Notably, the board had issued a directive in February, making domestic cricket participation mandatory.

The BCCI will announce the central contracts for the 2025/26 season after the conclusion of the Champions Trophy 2025.
Notably, the contracts are usually revealed before the IPL, but this time, the board has decided to wait until the marquee event ends.
According to The Times of India report, the delay is due to the BCCI wanting to evaluate players’ performances in the Champions Trophy before finalizing the list.
India, who are just one win away from securing another ICC title, will lock horns with New Zealand in the final clash in Dubai on Sunday, March 9.
Shreyas Iyer Likely to Regain BCCI Central Contract After Last Year’s Omission
Shreyas Iyer is likely to regain his BCCI central contract after being dropped last year due to disciplinary reasons.
His performances in the Champions Trophy 2025 have been outstanding while batting at No. 4. The right-handed batter has amassed 195 runs in four matches, including two half-centuries.

Iyer is currently India’s second-highest run-scorer in the tournament. He has adapted his approach by starting his innings against spin with a spread-out field and an older ball.
Notably, he recorded the slowest half-century of his ODI career against New Zealand in the ongoing marquee tournament.
He played a crucial innings alongside Virat Kohli against Pakistan. The batter also rescued India from 30/3 against New Zealand with his half-century.
Additionally, he played a crucial 45-run knock against Australia in the semi-final match. His best performance of 79 off 98 balls came against New Zealand.

India and New Zealand are the two best teams of the Champions Trophy. The Rohit Sharma-led team enters the summit clash unbeaten, while New Zealand's only defeat came against India in the group stage.
