Restless Shreyas Iyer before the IPL 2025 final
PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer admitted that he is not at peace before the epic showdown in Ahmedabad on June 3. This will be the most important game for Iyer as his eyes are on winning two IPL titles consecutively with two different franchises as a skipper.
Shreyas Iyer spoke to the press ahead of the IPL final and revealed that when he was in the destructive zone against MI in Qualifier 2, and backed his instincts and shots. Iye’s job is not finished until his side lifts the trophy for the first time.
“When I say that I am in the zone, it starts from before the match, from the warm-up and how you plan yourself and approach the game. Once I was completely locked in, I knew how I was going to rally my players, and they did a phenomenal job in restricting them to 203. From there, I had a certain plan on how I was going to play on that red-soil surface."
"We got a beautiful start from our openers, and then Josh came in at No. 3, so I thought I would get a little bit of time. Once my eyes were set, it was all about the flow and backing my instincts. Happy, but not content,” Iyer said.
Iyer was seen as aggressive in the field during the match against MI, as he was scolding PBKS players for misfieldings. Iyer also scolded Shashank Singh after the match because of the lack of commitment on the ground.
