Shubham Dubey Bought By Rajasthan Royals For Rs 5.80 Crores In IPL Auction 2024

Rajasthan Royals, on Tuesday (December 19), bought Vidarbha’s Shubham Dubey for Rs 5.80 crores in the ongoing IPL auction 2024. Delhi Capitals started the bid for the highly-rated batsman at his base price of Rs 20 lakh. Rajasthan Royals soon joined the race and the two franchises went big for the batsman. In no time, the bid touched the Rs 1 crore mark.

Neither Delhi Capitals nor Rajasthan Royals were in the mood to give up as Shubham Dubey became one of the very few uncapped players to touch the Rs 5 crore mark. In the end, Rajasthan Royals secured his services.

29-year-old Shubham Dubey plies his trade for Vidarbha in the domestic circuit. According to reports, the left-handed batsman impressed several talented scouts with his finishing abilities in this year’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Playing in the lower middle-order, Shubham Dubey scored 221 runs in seven innings at a stunning strike rate of 187.28.

He also played one of the best knocks of the tournament when Vidarbha was chasing a record total of 213 against Bengal. Shubham Dubey walked out to bat at No.5 as an Impact Player and changed the course of the game with a blistering knock.

He smashed an unbeaten 58 off just 20 balls with the help of three fours and six sixes to help Vidarbha chase down 213 runs with more than 2 overs remaining. Overall, he has played 20 T20s so far and has scored 485 runs at a strike rate of more than 145.
