Shubman Gill has reached the milestone of 3,000 Test runs and joined an elite group of Indian batters to achieve the feat. The India captain reached the landmark during the ongoing second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo.

Shubman Gill becomes fourth youngest to score 3000 Test runs
Gill reached 3,000 Test runs at the age of 26 years and 349 days, making him the fourth-youngest Indian to reach the milestone.
Sachin Tendulkar remains the youngest Indian to score 3,000 Test runs, achieving the feat at 23 years and 228 days. Virender Sehwag and Dilip Vengsarkar are the other two players ahead of Shubman Gill on the list.

Gill has reached the milestone in his 43rd Test match. He has scored 3,004 runs from 77 innings at an average of 43.53, with a highest score of 269. His tally includes 11 centuries and eight fifties.
Shubman Gill joins Indian elite with 3,000 Test runs
Gill's entry into the 3,000-run club puts him alongside several former India captains and batting greats. Sachin Tendulkar leads the list with 15,921 Test runs, followed by Rahul Dravid with 13,265 and Sunil Gavaskar with 10,122.
Virat Kohli is fourth on the list with 9,230 runs, while VVS Laxman and Virender Sehwag are the other Indian batters to have crossed 8,000 Test runs.
Gill is currently 28th on the overall list of Indian batters with 3,000 or more Test runs. The list also includes active players such as KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant.
