India was 4 wickets down coming into the final day of the Lord's Test. With the threat of a collapse looming over the Indian batting lineup, Rishabh Pant was the next batter supposed to take the field alongside KL Rahul.
Rahul is known as a composed player and was also set with 33 runs, but with Rishabh Pant supposedly taking the field next, he was spotted with captain Shubman Gill, supposedly getting some insights on the game plan.
Rishabh Pant is known for his fearless batting style, as he takes down any bowler with his strokes, which have been proven effective in England. However, this time around, some action needed to be resisted, according to the Indian management; hence, they might have advised him likely.
Ravi Shastri's request to the Indian management on Rishabh Pant's behalf, Shubman Gill rejects the orders
On behalf of the Indian wicket-keeper batsman who enjoys hitting the ball flawlessly against any bowler under any conditions of play, former Indian coach Ravi Shastri requested the Indian management and Shubman Gill to let Pant be on his own and play his natural game.
Any strategy or any chats with the batter would only confuse him, and keeping him away from his natural style of play has never been successful for the batter. Anyway, he also backed him for his immense experience and understanding of the game.
"Just let him go today, don't even have a chat, that's what will confuse him!" Shastri said on Sky Sports.
"His computer is working. He is experienced enough. He's been around for a long time. He has got hundreds all around the world. He averages close to 45. He knows what to do."
"He knows the importance of his innings. But he's got to do it his way. If he tries to be someone else today. It's not gonna help," added Shastri.

However, despite Ravi Shastri's warning, Shubman Gill was involved in a lengthy chat with Rishabh Pant, and India paid the price for it.
Rishabh Pant's stumps were sent flying by Jofra Archer
Rishabh Pant started on a positive note on the final day of the Lord's Test, as he got off to a quick start, having hit two boundaries. However, Jofra Archer, the returning pacer for England, pulled off a perfect delivery to dismiss Pant.
He pitched it around the off-stump line, and the ball nipped back towards the left-hander while beating his bat by a delivery that slightly shaped away. All these movements were observed at Archer's pace, overall making it unplayable for the Indian in-form batter. It took off Pant's off stump, sailing over.

India struggling in a small chase
India are likely to fail in chasing the total, which once looked easy to the Indians as well as the Indian cricket fans. After England were bowled out for just 192 in the second innings, it was none but smiling faces for the Men in Blue caps.
The skipper, Shubman Gill, who was in red-hot form himself, could not produce anything special. Shubman Gill was dismissed twice for 16 and 6 runs respectively.
However, once the batting innings started, the Three Lions slowly crept into the game with early wickets. India was 4 down on Day 4, and the same saga continued on Day 5 as well. India, at the time of writing, is 8 wickets down for 124; Jadeja is the key to the Indian innings.
If India goes on to lose the game, Shubman Gill, the skipper, will not be able to feature in the tally of Indian skippers to have registered a win against England at Lord's in Test cricket.
