India National Cricket Team Test and ODI captain, Shubman Gill, has dropped some hard-hitting lines on his official social media handle following the Test series loss at home.
Team India, under the leadership of Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant, faced a humiliating 0-2 whitewash in the home Test series against Temba Bavuma-led Team South Africa.
Calm seas don’t teach you how to steer - Shubman Gill
The Proteas came to India well-prepared for the Test series. They had toured Pakistan for an all-format series to acclimatize to the conditions and made the most of it by clean-sweeping India in a two-match Test series.
South Africa completely outplayed India across all three departments as they were better at batting, bowling, and fielding.
In the first Test in Kolkata, where a poor pitch was laid out, the Temba Bavuma-led side registered a 30-run win, and in the second Test match in Guwahati, where a great track was dished out, the Proteas won by 408 runs.
Notably, India missed the services of captain Shubman Gill on most of the days in the Test series against South Africa as he suffered a neck injury, and Rishabh Pant stood up as the stand-in skipper.
Meanwhile, Shubman Gill took to X to share a motivational message after the series loss and ensured that they would bounce back strong.
"Calm seas don’t teach you how to steer, it’s the storm that forges steady hands. We’ll continue to believe in each other, fight for each other, and move forward - rising stronger," the India National Cricket Team captain wrote on X.

India should play all their matches in neutral venues to do well - Kris Srikkanth
Although every former and current Indian cricketer is totally distraught after the Test series loss to South Africa, Kris Srikkanth took the opportunity to make a sarcastic suggestion.
He hilariously said that the India National Cricket Team should start playing all their Test matches in neutral venues as they perform better away from home.
"I have a very nice idea (sarcastic). India should play all their matches in neutral venues to do well. Play in England because they did well there. All matches to be played in England, then India will do very well in Test cricket. There will be a full crowd also, Indians will be there to support and watch," he said on his YouTube channel 'Cheeky Cheeka'.
Even players have to own up - Kris Srikkanth
Kris Srikkanth also said that Indian batters were quite poor because they were unable to deal with not-so-good South African bowlers and pointed out the reasons behind the defeat.
"Even players have to own up. Forget about winning, at least you can't save the Test? The bowling attack was not so deadly that you can't play seven hours. This is an overall error in the system, in picking the right XI, and to manage pressure. If there is no system, application, and process, what will you do? South Africa came the a vision, they came with a plan, and they executed," he said.
