Shubman Gill has claimed that he recently discussed the shot with team captain Rohit, who is now the finest ‘puller’ in the game, about the stroke, which is both dangerous and beneficial.
However, the 22-year-old is aware that Pull Shot takes time to master, and perfecting it requires patience.
One of the most enjoyable parts of Gill’s batting style is his ability to draw the ball well. I’ve been practising the pull shot since I was a kid since I enjoy it so much. I recently asked Rohit Bhai if he anticipates the pull shot when he hits the ball in the air, or if he watches the ball first and then plays the shot. It was more of a tactical question. ‘What do you think, how do you read the bowler’s thinking when you hit the ball in the air?’ I questioned. Gill claimed, “I addressed my doubt with him,” without saying what Rohit informed him.
In the Gabba Test, Shubman Gill played Heroics Knock:
Shubman Gill was only 21 years old and in his third Test match when he played an innings that he will be able to tell his grandchildren about one day. Gill’s 91 on the final day of the famous Gabba Test helped India chase down 328 in a stadium where no Australian team had won since 1988.
Gill has already had a promising start to his Test career in the previous two matches, with the 2020/21 Border-Gavaskar Trophy tied at 1-1. Gill struck 45 and 35 not out as India sealed a surprise victory in Melbourne, rebounding back from a low in Adelaide. In Sydney, he made his first Test half-century and followed it up with a confident 31 in the second innings.
Shubman Gill has played ten test matches so far. In ten Test matches, He batted in 19 innings and scored 558 runs at an average of 32.8.
