'Shubman Gill is advanced version of Babar Azam' - India captain torn apart after failing vs Zimbabwe in 2nd T20I

Fans on Twitter reacted after India National Cricket Team skipper for the Zimbabwe tour - Shubman Gill - failed to make a mark with the bat in the second T20I. The match between the teams is underway at the Harare Sports Club in Harare.

Shubman Gill, who was dropped from the Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2024, had the great opportunity to silence all the criticism in the ongoing series against Zimbabwe. But so far the series hasn't gone his way at all. The batter has failed to set the stage on fire in the first two games of the series.

Shubman Gill looked in decent touch in the first game as he scored 31 runs. But he couldn't take his team home as India went on to lose the game by 13 runs while chasing 115 runs. It was expected that the captain of the team would make a huge impact in the second game but it turned out to be a horrible outing for him.

Shubman Gill couldn't get going at all as he bagged a low score in the second T20I. He perished to Blessing Muzarabani in the second over as Zimbabwe put India under pressure right at the right. The India captain for the ongoing tour managed just 2 runs off 4 balls as the team lost the first wicket for 10 runs.

Blessing Muzarabani bowled a full delivery on the middle and leg to which Shubman Gill looked to whip it away. But he didn't get the proper connection as he hit the ball straight to mid-on, where Brian Bennett took a sharp catch inside the ring to leave the pacer delighted.

Shubman Gill overall hasn't been able to make a mark in the T20I cricket for a while now. In the 16 games, the opening batter has scored just 368 runs at an average of around 24. He also has slammed one half-century and one ton.
