Opener Shubman Gill reveals the one thing which he is better at than skipper Virat Kohli: playing FIFA (a football game).
Shubman Gill, who flourished on his Test debut in Australia helping the team register a historic series triumph, was asked if there’s anything which he could teach the skipper.
On a chatshow with ESPNCricinfo, the 21-year-old said: “One thing… FIFA (the game). I know he’s going to be really pissed but he always loses to me in FIFA.”
Shubman Gill was one of the stars on the Australia tour. He replaced Prithvi Shaw at the top after the first Test. The right-hander finished with 259 runs in 3 Tests at a brilliant average of 51.80, with a couple of half-centuries, including his 91-run knock in the 4th innings of the Brisbane Test.
Shubman Gill underperforms in IPL 2021 for KKR
While the youngster had a great start to his Test career Down Under, his form took a dip in the following home Test series versus England. He averaged 19.83 in 4 Tests against Joe Root’s side.
That was followed by a disappointing IPL 2021 campaign for the Kolkata Knight Riders. Opening the batting, Shubman Gill scored 132 runs at an average of 18.86 and a strike rate of 117.86 in 7 games, before the season was suspended owing to covid-19 outburst in four franchises, including KKR.
