The India National Cricket Team captain, Shubman Gill, has produced a stunning innings and rewritten the record books in ODI cricket on Wednesday (September 30). Shubman Gill smashed a brilliant double hundred during a huge run chase against the West Indies in Guwahati.
The Indian captain’s second ODI double hundred came under pressure after India were given a huge target of 406 runs by the West Indies in the second ODI at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday. Earlier, Rohit Sharma creates history, becomes third Indian to score 12,000 ODI runs.

Shubman Gill has become the fastest batter to score an ODI double century. He reached the landmark in 125 balls, going past Ishan Kishan, who had taken 126 balls for his double hundred.
The milestone also made Gill only the second batter in ODI history to score a double hundred while chasing. The only other player to achieve this before him was Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who produced his famous double century against Afghanistan.
This was Gill’s second ODI double hundred, having smashed the double century in 2023 against New Zealand in Hyderabad.
