Gujarat Titans (GT) might have faced a massive blow amid the ongoing game against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Skipper Shubman Gill didn't come out to the field during the second innings at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

Shubman Gill was subbed out ahead of the start of the second innings against the Rajasthan Royals. Veteran pacer Ishant Sharma came out as an impact player, and Rashid Khan has been given the charge to lead the team for the remaining part of the game.

Coming to Shubman Gill, the Gujarat Titans skipper played a magical hand with the bat. Opening the batting, the right-hander looked in sublime touch as he was all over the Rajasthan Royals bowlers, slamming them all over the park to put his team in a dominating position.

Shubman Gill hit yet another half-century in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) and was all set for a century. But fell short of just a few runs. The right-hander ended up playing an innings of 84 runs off 50 balls. He batted with a strike rate of 168 and also hit five boundaries and four sixes.

Jos Buttler, who also slammed a half-century, lauded Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan for giving a brilliant start to the team. While talking about how they have fared, he said:

"Yeah, great performance. The two guys at the top have been outstanding, setting great platforms. We've got a good score on the board. Really good wicket. Obviously the bounce is a little lower here in Jaipur, but lots of value with the fast outfield. Will have to bowl well. I asked him what he thought a good score was, he said 190-plus.

"We're a bit above but if the dew comes, it might skid on. I'm always expecting a few bouncers from Jofra. I'm sure he'll repay me sometime in the nets. From day one, watching him in the nets, I was blown away by how good he was (talking about Sudharsan). He's got a really good head on his shoulders to go with the talent."
