In a recently viral video that has gone viral over X, Indian skipper Shubman Gill is engaging in a blame game session. Though the skipper might have made a light-hearted remark, it seemed to highlight a major concern in his captaincy stint.
When asked by the presenter what has been the most challenging or pressure-building thing in his new role as Indian Test skipper, Shubman Gill mentioned that making a DRS call has been the toughest for him.
Shubman Gill has made 6 DRS calls as of now as India's skipper, and none of the calls have been successful. However, the skipper has not agreed to take the blame on himself, as he calls out Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj's names as players who compelled him to make those calls.
They are senior fellows, making it tough for Gill to deny them, and Shubman said, To them, every ball that hits the pads seems a wicket or a huge possibility. Eventually, taking the review, it has been found that the ball misses the stumps by miles.
"The most pressure, I think I've taken about six DRS calls, and all of them have been wrong. Not a single DRS call has been right. But the most pressure is by Jaddu bhai, I think. Jaddu bhai and Siraj. They both put the most pressure on me," Shubman Gill said.

Shubman Gill also captains Siraj in the Gujarat Titans
Shubman Gill might be appointed as the skipper of the Indian side; however, captaincy is not a new thing for him, as he has led teams in the Ranji Trophy and other Indian domestic leagues as well as the IPL.
Shubman Gill took over as the Gujarat Titans' skipper in IPL 2024, when Hardik Pandya was traded to the Mumbai Indians. Shubman Gill had also captained current Indian teammates Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna in the IPL.
He is well aware of Siraj's nature to often make random, unstrategic calls of his own bowling; hence, Gill should be judgmental while making a DRS call on sceptical calls from Siraj.
Gill and Jadeja were sublime for India in the middle phase
Though the hilarious exchange might look to trigger the field relations between Jadeja and Shubman Gill, it cannot be forgotten that they have been an absolutely stunning pair with the bat.
Middle-order batter Gill has added a pile of runs for India alongside Ravindra Jadeja, as the former made two stunning hundreds while the latter contributed significantly with two fifties in the Edgbaston Test. They put on a double-century stand in the first innings and followed it with a century stand in the second innings.

Gill can be the fourth Indian skipper to win a Test at Lord's
Shubman Gill, the dynamic Indian batsman, has been appointed as the Indian Test skipper, and he has made a huge impact, winning the second Test. The first-ever Asian captain to win a test match at Edgbaston.
Gill now has the chance to double the joy by taking a 2-1 lead in the series, winning the third test at Lord's. India has played in 19 games at the Lord's and has managed to win only 3, under skippers Kapil Dev, MS Dhoni, and Virat Kohli, in 1986, 2014, and 2021, respectively.
Shubman Gill can be the fourth skipper to enlist his name among the greats from India to win a Test at Lord's.
