Even before stepping into their debut season in the PSL, the newly bought franchise Sialkot Stallionz have undergone a major change in ownership and have been renamed as Multan Sultans by one of Ali Tareen's dearest friends.

The Pakistan Super League, PSL, is undergoing some massive changes, as their former franchise, Multan Sultan, was about to lose its participation due to a conflict between their owners and the PCB. However, two new teams were also included in the PSL drafts.

One of the new franchises that would have been part of the upcoming season of the PSL included the Sialkot Stallionz, but they have now undergone a massive change. Hyderabad Kingsmen are the other side that will be part of the upcoming season.

END of Sialkot Stallionz in the PSL as the new CEO brings back Multan Sultans

Amid many cities that were shortlisted for the franchises, which included Rawalpindi, Muzafarabad, Gilgit, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, and Sialkot, only the last two were picked to be franchises. Stallionz were bought by the OZ developers in the franchise auction conducted on the 8th of January.

Not much time after that, the Stallionz went for a major swap of hands in terms of ownership. Reportedly, the CD Ventures has entered into a pact with the OZ developers and has taken over the franchise, further renaming it as Multan Sultans.

Gohar Shah from the CD Ventures will be the new CEO of the newly renamed team, Multan Sultans.

Journey of Sialkot Stallionz in the PSL

The journey of the Sialkot Stallionz began with the OZ Group making the massive investment of PKR 185 crores to acquire the franchise on the 8th of January. However, the hope of the Sialkot people has been crushed even before the team could make its debut.

On the 3rd of March, they announced that CD Ventures have acquired Sialkot with another massive bid of PKR 200 crores and have renamed it as the Multan Sultans. Hence, this marks the end of the Stallionz' journey in the PSL.

"Tareen Group has provided many services for Pakistan cricket and the PSL," the new CEO says

The new CEO of the Multan Sultans has credited the former owners of the Multan Sultans team and admitted that the Tareen Group made a significant impact on the growth of PSL and Pakistan cricket.

He has guaranteed that they will look to extend this legacy further, and Ali Tareen, who is a friend of his, is always welcome to watch the matches.

"Tareen Group has provided many services for Pakistan cricket and the PSL. Our aim will be to take the team forward from where they left off. Ali Tareen is my friend, and everyone will be welcome to come and watch Multan’s matches," he said.
