Paras Mhambrey, former bowling coach of Team India, heaped praise on Jasprit Bumrah for his exceptional bowling skills, describing him as a "freak." Paras Mhambrey highlighted that Jasprit Bumrah's effectiveness with the ball remains unchanged despite his shortened run-up in his bowling action.

The Indian team is on a long break after the white-ball series in Sri Lanka. They will next play in the two-match Test series against Bangladesh at home. Some Test squad members might participate in the Duleep Trophy, but top players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jasprit Bumrah are unlikely to play.

Bumrah was last seen in action during the T20 World Cup 2024. He has been Team India’s standout performer across all formats since his debut. He was named Player of the Tournament in the 2024 T20 World Cup. He secured 15 wickets at an exceptional average of 8.26 and an economy rate of 4.17.

It Doesn't Make A Difference - Paras Mhambrey

Speaking with News18 CricketNext, Paras Mhambrey said that Jasprit Bumrah maintains impressive pace and effectiveness despite his shortened run-up. Mhambrey highlighted that Bumrah’s unique release and precision set him apart.

"Skill wise, Bumrah is a freak. As a bowler, you know, just looking at it, it’s a little technical because he needs to run up, he needs to run up, take that momentum through, go through, but if you look at Bumrah right now, pretty much just walks in, doesn’t even run, you know, just the way he releases the ball just walks in four or five steps," Mhambrey said.

"Obviously, now his little length and the run up is, but it doesn’t make a difference. If you ask him to bowl for four steps, also he’ll be as quick as what he’s doing," he added.

Jasprit Bumrah Has Worked Hard For It - Paras Mhambrey

Paras Mhambrey highlighted that Jasprit Bumrah has mastered his skills through rigorous practice and experience in domestic cricket. Mhambrey noted that Bumrah has tested his body and has gone through seasons without injuries. He added that Bumrah has intelligence in his bowling approach.

"Yeah, he is just born that way and I think It’s obviously a born with a skill, but damn he’s worked hard for it man Is he’s gone through the Ranji Trophy by bowling so much, played a lot of first-class cricket. He’s created the base is gone through tough phase. He’s tested his body again and again, and have gone through seasons without injuries. So obviously, he has mastered his skills there and over the period with the experience that he has is just the intelligence to look at the way he bowls," Mhambrey further stated.

Jasprit Bumrah is likely to feature in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh. The Indian team will play three more home Tests against New Zealand before traveling to Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT).
