After losing the first ODI, Zimbabwe would look to bounce back strongly and win the second one-day international against Sri Lanka, scheduled to be held on Tuesday at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.

Zimbabwe batted first in the first ODI and posted a 296-run total on the board. However, they failed to defend it as Sri Lanka chased it down in 48.5 overs. Ahead of the second ODI against Sri Lanka, here’s a look at our predicted playing XI of the Zimbabwe Cricket Team.

T Kaitano showed promise in his debut ODI against Sri Lanka on Sunday. He hit 7 fours en-route to his 42-run knock off 50 deliveries.

Expect him to open the batting once again with Regis Chakabva, who too showed his class in the last match. Chakabva played a valiant knock of 72 runs off 81 deliveries.

Middle-Order: Craig Ervine, Sean Williamson, Madhevere, and W Raza

Skipper Craig Ervine had a forgettable outing in the last game as he got out for just 9 off 20 deliveries. His ally, Sean Williamson, however, played a heart-warming century.

Williamson would look to carry on his good form, while the skipper would look to make a significant contribution with the bat on Tuesday.

Madhevere scored 20 off 25 deliveries, while Sikandar Raza could only manage 4 off 4 balls.

All-rounder: Ryan Burl

Ryan Burl’s presence adds a lot of balance to the team. He bats at number seven in this batting unit. He, although, had a forgettable outing with both bat and ball in the last game. Burl made 4 runs in 4 balls and conceded 12 runs in one over with the ball.

Bowlers: W Masakadza, Muzarabani, Chatara, and Ngarava

All four played the last game and are is likely to be persisted for the next game as well. Richard Ngarava was the pick of the bowlers as he claimed 3 wickets for 56 runs in 9 overs.

Blessing Muzarabani didn’t live up to the potential as he gave away 58 runs in 9.3 overs with one wicket to his name. Chatara and Masakadza went wicketless in the last game and would be hopeful of betters returns in the next game.
