Gautam Gambhir has been heavily targeted by S Sreesanth and his wife after the former allegedly mocked Sreesanth on the field during the eliminator between India Capitals and Gujarat Giants in the Legends League Cricket.

S Sreesanth admitted that the batter said something very derogatory to him on the field and the remark was very hurtful for Sreesanth. Gautam hit Sreesanth for a six and a four in consecutive deliveries which initiated a response from the bowler and they were involved in a verbal exchange.

S Sreesanth’s wife also lashed out at Gautam Gambhir for his remark on her husband and she questioned his upbringing saying, “It is so shocking to hear from Sree that a player who has played for India with him for many years can stoop to this level. Even after so many years of retirement from active cricket. After all, upbringing matters a lot and it shows up when these kinds of behavior comes up on the ground. Shocking, truly shocking,”

Now Gautam Gambhir has come up with a cryptic tweet after the whole incident and the scathing attack he received from Sreesanth and his wife. Gautam Gambhir tweeted a photo of himself smiling which could be a potential dig at Sreesanth given that Sreesanth was heard saying that Gautam Gambhir had a charming smile a few days back. Gambhir captioned the tweet, “Smile when the world is all about attention!”

Irfan Pathan’s Reply To Gautam Gambhir’s Tweet Goes Viral

Irfan Pathan replied to Gautam’s tweet saying, “Smile is the best answer brother.” S Sreesanth, Gautam Gambhir, and Irfan Pathan-all three were a part of the 2007 T20 World Cup winning team where Gautam Gambhir played a sensational knock scoring 75 in the final against Pakistan and Irfan Pathan took three wickets and was given the Player of the Match award.
