Former England captain Michael Vaughan took a jab at Harry Brook and the Jos Buttler-led England team after their disappointing batting display in the third T20I in India. The former England cricketer sarcastically questioned whether smog was affecting team performance, referencing previous complaints from England players.
Jos Buttler scored 68 runs off 44 balls during the first T20I in Kolkata. However, the team was bowled out for 132 and went 0-1 down in the five-match series. After being dismissed for 17 by Varun Chakravarthy, Harry Brook blamed smog for his difficulty in reading the spinner, which led to criticism from fans.

Suryakumar Yadav chose to bowl first after winning the toss for the third consecutive match. England lost Phil Salt early, but Ben Duckett (51) and Jos Buttler (24) added a 76-run stand. However, Varun Chakravarthy broke the partnership by dismissing Buttler, and Axar Patel removed Duckett soon after.
England's middle and lower order collapsed, with Chakravarthy taking four wickets in his final two overs. Liam Livingstone (43), Adil Rashid (10*), and Mark Wood (10*) provided late contributions as England managed 171 runs in 20 overs.
Chakravarthy registered his second five-wicket haul in T20Is, finishing with 5/24 in four overs. The spinner dismissed Buttler, Jamie Smith, Jamie Overton, Brydon Carse, and Jofra Archer. Livingstone’s explosive 24-ball 43, including five sixes, revived England’s innings before Hardik Pandya dismissed him.
