Stylish Indian opener Smriti Mandhana has withdrawn from the remainder of the first season of the Women’s Hundred competition.

Mandhana will return home in order to spend some time with her family before Team India leaves for the Australian tour.

Smriti Mandhana has been in the UK since the start of June.

She was a part of the Indian team that locked horns with England in a one-off Test and six white-ball internationals- 3 ODIs + 3 T20Is.

Mandhana, just like some of her Indian compatriots like Jemimah Rodrigues, Shafali Verma, Deepti Sharma and Harmanpreet Kaur, stayed back in England to take part in the inaugural Hundred competition where she was a part of the Southern Braves outfit.

Smriti Mandhana smashed a couple of half-centuries during her seven-match campaign which includes a blistering 52-ball 78 against the Welsh Fire on Wednesday.

Overall, Mandhana accumulated 167 runs from seven matches at a strike rate of 133.60.

”I would love to be able to stay with the team until the final but we’ve been away from home for a long time with more tours ahead,” Smriti Mandhana said in a statement as quoted by Cricinfo.” I’ll be watching the team at Lord’s and hoping they can continue our good form. It’s been a fantastic competition to be involved in and I’ve really enjoyed it.”

As a result, Smriti will miss Southern Braves’ next couple of fixtures which also includes the final.
