Former India National Cricket Team captain, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president, and current Delhi Capitals Director of Cricket, Sourav Ganguly, has confirmed that the star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant will take part in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

The Delhi Capitals (DC) captain missed the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 due to the injuries he suffered after his horrific road accident in December last year. The wicketkeeper-batter has been recovering fine and has started walking without any troubles after his recovery.

The Delhi Capitals (DC) have already started their training camps ahead of next year’s IPL and Pant recently joined the camp at the Jadavpur University second Campus Cricket Association of Bengal ground in Saltlake, Kolkata.

The return of Rishabh Pant will be a massive boost for the team as they had a poor run in the IPL 2023 under the leadership of the veteran Australian opener David Warner. DC only won 5 matches out of 14 and finished at the 9th spot on the 10-team points table.

Speaking to India Today, Sourav Ganguly said that although Pant is with the Delhi Capitals, he will not do any practice. He also said that they had some discussions with Pant ahead of the IPL 2024 auction which is set to be held in December.

“Rishabh Pant is in good shape. He will play from next season. He will not practice now. He is here till 11th November. We had a discussion about the team with Pant as he is the captain of the team, considering the upcoming auctions,” Sourav Ganguly told India Today in Kolkata.

Rishabh Pant recently made a trip to Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh, where he visited the Lord Balaji Temple. This was an indication that he longer has issues with his knee and is on the verge of achieving full fitness.

Some reports have claimed that the the wicketkeeper-batter is targeting his return to international cricket during the England tour of the India 2024 which will begin in January
