Sourav Ganguly Kept Under Strict Observation At Kolkata Hospital- Reports

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) President Sourav Ganguly is under strict observation at a hospital in Kolkata after returning COVID-19 positive.

On late Monday evening, Ganguly was taken to the Woodlands Hospital in the city as a precautionary measure. He received Monoclonal Antibody Cocktail therapy at the hospital after which he was stable.

Sourav Ganguly’s health updates are to be issued at 1 PM on Wednesday

According to a report byNews18 Bangla, Ganguly is still under medical observation and is having mild symptoms.

Sourav Ganguly is stable: Woodlands Hospital

Early on Tuesday, the Woodlands Hospital had issued a statement regarding the former Indian skipper’s health and said he was being examined by a few doctors.

Mr Sourav Ganguly, BCCI President and former Indian cricket captain, got admitted at Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital on December 27, 2021 late evening with Covid Positive status. He received Monoclonal Antibody Cocktail therapy on the same night and is currently haemodynamically stable,” the statement read.

“A medical board comprising Dr Saroj Mondal, Dr Saptarshi Basu and Dr Soutik Panda in consultation with Dr Devi Shetty and Dr Aftab Khan is keeping a close watch on his health status,” it added.

Ganguly’s brother Snehasish, who had also tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this year, confirmed that the former Indian skipper is stable.

Sourav is stable. He underwent angioplasty earlier this year. So as a precautionary measure he has been admitted to Woodlands,” Snehasish told The Indian Express.

Ganguly was twice hospitalised this year and had undergone angioplasty after having some cardiac issues. He is vaccinated with both doses for COVID-19.

Ganguly was appointed as the BCCI president in October 2019 with his official tenure ending back in July 2020.

Ganguly along with BCCI secretary Jay Shah completed their tenures for more than one year but continue to hold their respective posts in the Indian board as the Supreme Court of India is yet to hear their case.
