The reunion of Indian cricket legend Sourav Ganguly and Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan stole the show during the rain-interrupted IPL 2026 clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Monday, April 6.
It was supposed to be a high-voltage clash at Eden Gardens, but rain washed out the match. Fans who came in huge numbers were left disappointed as only 22 balls were possible. However, a “fairytale” moment between Ganguly and SRK brought smiles to the faces of the fans at Eden Gardens.

As the showers halted play, Sourav Ganguly, who is currently serving as the president of the Cricket Association of Bengal, walked onto the field, calmly checking things and chatting with officials.
On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan was seen having a long and serious discussion with Venky Mysore in the stands at Eden Gardens. The Bollywood megastar came to watch this IPL 2026 clash with his daughter Suhana Khan. The cameras kept switching between the two legends.

Notably, Ganguly has been part of two different teams in the IPL. Most people remember him as the face of the Kolkata Knight Riders. Later, he also played for Pune Warriors India.
Across his IPL journey, Ganguly played 59 matches and scored 1349 runs at an average of 25 and a strike rate of over 100. During this time, the legendary Indian batter also hit seven half-centuries. He was captain of KKR on two different stints.
