South Africa will eye for a series victory when they clash with India in the 2nd Test. India vs South Africa 2nd Test is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, January 3. Newlands Cricket Stadium in Cape Town is the venue of the IND vs SA encounter. South Africa won the opening Test by a big margin.
Now, they need to either win or draw the 2nd Test to clinch the series. Since South African players gave a stupendous performance in the opening game, they might not make changes in the playing 11 in the 2nd Test. Dean Elgar

Dean Elgar shattered an impeccable knock of 185 runs in the previous Test. The South Africa opener set the tone for South Africa’s victory and won the player of the match award. Dean Elgar will open the innings once again in the 2nd Test.
The left-handed batsman will play his last international match in IND vs SA 2nd Test and look for another brilliant knock.

Aiden Markram (C)

Aiden Markram will be another opener for the team. The right-handed batsman got out cheaply in the previous match for 5 runs. He will aim for a better show in the next Test. Markram held a stupendous form last year and will aim to start 2024 with a bang.
Since Temba Bavuma has sustained an injury and is ruled out of the second Test, Markram might lead the team in the next game.
Tony de Zorzi

Tony de Zorzi will be a one-down batter in the India vs South Africa 2nd Test. He showed a wonderful form in the ODI series, smacking a century and a half-century in two games. However, he could only score 28 runs in the 1st Test off 62 balls. The left-handed batsman started well but failed to go big.
Keegan Petersen

Keegan Petersen got out cheaply for just 7 runs in the last match after becoming a victim of Jasprit Bumrah. He will eye a better show in the 2nd Test. Petersen will bat in the middle-order.
Zubayr Hamza

Zubayr Hamza has replaced Temba Bavuma in the South Africa squad. Hence, he might replace the Proteas skipper in the middle-order in the 2nd Test against India. The right-handed batsman has played 6 Tests so far, hitting 212 runs with a top knock of 62. He last played in the Test series against New Zealand in February 2022.
David Bedingham

David Bedingham scored a superb half-century in the previous match. He made his debut in the last match and hit a fifty in his first match. After his brilliant show, Bedinghan might be picked for the 2nd Test too.
Kyle Verreynne (WK)

Kyle Verreynne was the wicketkeeper for South Africa in the previous match and will lead the team in the next match too. He got out for 4 runs in the previous game but did a good job behind the stumps. Verreynne is the most experienced wicketkeeper in the squad and will get another opportunity in the next match.

Marco Jansen

Marco Jansen might be an all-rounder for South Africa in the 2nd Test. The left-arm pacer hunted 4 wickets in the match and also hit a superb unbeaten knock of 84 runs. He did a wonderful job in both batting and bowling. The left-handed batsman will get a spot in the playing 11 in the next match too.
Wiaan Mulder

Wiaan Mulder might replace Gerald Coetzee in the 2nd Test as the latter has sustained an injury and ruled out of the series. Wiaan Mulder played in the previous ODI series against India. Mulder is a medium-pace all-rounder who has played 12 Tests. He has hit 326 runs and got 19 wickets.
Kagiso Rabada

Kagiso Rabada led the pace attack for South Africa in the last match. The right-arm pacer hunted a 5-wicket haul in the 1st innings. Later, he again clinched 2 wickets to capture 7 wickets in the match. Rabada is the most dangerous pacer for Proteas and he will aim for another amazing show in the 2nd Test.

Nandre Burger

Nandre Burger made a fabulous debut in the last match by picking 7 wickets. The left-arm pacer hunted 4 and 3 wickets in both innings. Burger also dismissed crucial Indian batters in the match. Hence, the young pacer will be picked in the playing 11 in the 2nd Test too post his wonderful show.
