South Africa Playing 11 vs New Zealand- Match 5, Zimbabwe T20I Tri Series 2025:
Openers: Reeza Hendricks, Lhuan-dré Pretorius (wk)
South Africa will open the batting in the fifth match of the tri-series against New Zealand with the pair of Reeza Hendricks and Lhuan-dré Pretorius.
The duo will look to get the team off to a good start as batting has ben as been an issue for the Proteas with them not being able to chase down a decent target of 174 runs in the second match of the series against the same opposition.
To add to that, South Africa lost its top order early in a fairly easy chase in the series opener against Zimbabwe, and it was the middle order that bailed the team out of a tricky situation.
If we talk about the individual performances of Hendricks and Pretorius, it has been a mixed bag so far, with them getting starts against New Zealand but not being able to convert them into big scores.
Both batters would wish to put on a strong performance in an important game against New Zealand.
The openers will have to build a solid partnership for the first wicket for the Proteas to post an above-par total.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Rassie van der Dussen (c), Rubin Hermann, Dewald Brevis, Corbin Bosch, George Linde
The opening pair will be followed by a middle order, which made a strong comeback in the last match after a disappointing performance against New Zealand.
Young batters like Rubin Hermann and Dewald Brevis have also been a shining light in the South African batting lineup in the series so far, and would want to put on another strong performance.
South Africa has a couple of all-rounders in their playing XI, like Corbin Bosch and George Linde, both of whom can clear the boundary with ease.
Proteas' captain for this series, Rassie van der Dussen, will look to hold the innings from one end and let other batters play with freedom.
Bowlers: Andile Simelane, Nqabayomzi Peter, Nandre Burger, Lungi Ngidi
The visitors will have six bowling options in three playing XI for the upcoming game against New Zealand if they decide to stick with the same bowling combination that took the field in the previous match against Zimbabwe.
If the case remains so, then the fast bowling department will be taken care of by Corbin Bosch, Lungi Ngidi, Andile Simelane, and Nandre Burger, with Bosch being the fast bowling all-rounder.
As far as the team's spin bowling is concerned, it will be taken care of by George Linde and Nqabayomzi Peter.
The presence of a couple of all-rounders in the team gives the captain a great deal of flexibility.
