Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced the fixtures for next year’s T20I series against the West Indies. South Africa will face West Indies in a five-match T20I series from January 27 to February 6. This T20I series will be played right after the SA20 2026 Final.
Following the South Africa vs West Indies T20I series, the Proteas men will travel to India and Sri Lanka for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. CSA has explained that the international window for men's cricket will be shorter next season due to scheduled tours to Australia, England, Pakistan, and India between August and December.
CSA confirms South Africa vs West Indies T20I series schedule
However, the South African cricket board is confident that the SA20 2026 and T20I series against the West Indies will help the national players get valuable match practice ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 in India and Sri Lanka next year.
CSA Chief Executive Officer Pholetsi Moseki said in an official statement: “Our international window for men’s cricket is unusually shorter next season due to outbound bilateral tours to Australia, England, Pakistan, and India between August and December. The Betway SA20 will also take place before the T20 International series against West Indies, with both providing valuable game time ahead of next year’s T20 World Cup.”
Schedule for the South Africa vs West Indies T20I Series:
1st T20I—January 27 at Boland Park, Paarl
2nd T20I—January 29 at World Sports Betting Newlands Cricket Ground, Cape Town
3rd T20I – February 1 at Buffalo Park Cricket Stadium, East London

South Africa gears up for packed international schedule
Meanwhile, the Proteas team will face Australia in the WTC Final 2025 on June 11 at Lord’s and then they will travel to Zimbabwe for the two-match Test series and a four-match T20I tri-series in June-July. In August, the South African side will play three T20Is and three ODIs in Australia.
Then, they will travel to England to play three T20Is and three ODIs in September. South Africa’s busy overseas schedule will continue in October-December as they will visit Pakistan and India for the full flagged series. Pakistan will be hosting the Proteas men in two Tests, three ODIs, and three T20Is, while India will host the South African side for two Tests, three ODIs, and five T20Is.
Proteas men face back-to-back heartbreaks
The South African team has been in sensational form but fell short of winning the ICC titles. Last year, they lost the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final to India, and most recently, they failed to make it to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 finals that the Men in Blue won earlier this month in Dubai.
Earlier, the Proteas side could not cross the semifinal hurdle against Australia in the 2023 ODI World Cup semifinal. But they would love to take that revenge in the WTC Final 2025 against the Kangaroos. South Africa will have a great opportunity to win the World Cup in 2027 when they host the ICC Cricket World Cup 2027.
