Rajasthan Royals' teen sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi reflected on both his and the team's sensational IPL 2026 season.

RR finished fourth on the points table before winning the Eliminator against third-placed Sunrisers Hyderabad and making it to Qualifier 2, where they lost to eventual runners-up GT.

In the group stage, the team won 8 of their 14 matches and made it to the playoffs on the very last day of the league stage. Despite winning each of their first four games, RR lost 6 of their next 8 to find themselves in a must-win situation even before the playoffs.

By the end of the season, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi won almost every individual award that the IPL had to hand out.

Sooryavanshi had a record-breaking IPL 2026 as he made 776 runs at an average of 48.50 and a strike rate of 237. He also hit 5 fifties and a hundred. Sooryavanshi also hit a staggering 72 sixes in the entire tournament.

Agonizingly, though, he had to contend with being dismissed in the 90s on three separate occasions, including twice in the playoffs. Sooryavanshi also arguably gave us the innings of the season when he made 97 runs from 29 balls against SRH in the Eliminator.

At the Awards Ceremony after the IPL 2026 Final on Sunday, Sooryavanshi walked away with five individual awards. He was awarded the Orange Cap (most runs in the season), the Super Sixes Award (most sixes in the season), the Super Striker Award (highest strike rate in the season), the MVP award, and the Emerging Player Award.

In a video posted by the Rajasthan Royals on their social handles, all the players were seen going back to their homes, and the franchise asked them for their testimonials for this season.

Sooryavanshi was asked to elaborate on his rapport with his teammates and said that everyone in the team was like his family.

"I will miss everyone here. Everyone was like my family, so I especially will miss them all," the teenager said.

"We will try to bring our second trophy next season" - Vaibhav Sooryavanshi's message to fans

When asked whether he had a message for the fans, Sooryavanshi said that the team will try to do next year what they couldn't do this year.

The teenager said that the team would try its best to bring the IPL trophy back next year.

"The only message I have is that what didn't happen this year, we will hopefully complete it next year and win our second IPL trophy," he said.

The Rajasthan Royals have never won the IPL again since winning the first-ever edition of the tournament in 2008. Ironically, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was not even born when RR won their only IPL trophy.
