Cricket South Africa on Friday (31st May) announced the squads for the women’s team for the upcoming India tour. The governing body has named the teams for the Test and the ODI sides while the team for the T20I series will be announced later.

South African women will be touring India for the ODI, Test, and T20I series. The 50-over series between the teams will be played from 16th to 23rd June in Bengaluru. After that one-off Test will be played on 28th June in Chennai. The tour will conclude with the T20I series, to be played from 5th July to 9th July.

Laura Wolvaardt will be leading the team in the Test and the ODI series against India. Veteran all-rounder Nondumiso Shangase and wicket-keeper Route Badgers have been recalled into the team while Lara Goodall, Chloe Tyron, and Ayanda Hlubi have missed out due to injuries.

South African women have also named Tazmin Brits in the ODI and the Test team. But she has been struggling with her fitness for a while. Therefore her availability for the series will be subject to her fitness. If she remains fit, it will be a massive boost for the team.

Before going to India, South Africa will be having a pre-tour camp in Tshwane from 4 June to 8 June. They will also be playing a warmup game on the 14th of June in India before playing the first game of the ODI series on the 16th of June.
