Former Indian pacer and ICC T20 World Cup 2007 star Sreesanth shared unheard tales about Former Indian Captain and current Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a cricketer who is considered among the greats of World Cricket. He has a very big fan base across the world. Several current players have groomed under him and want to take input from him when they meet.

He led India to victory in the ICC T20 World Cup 2007, ICC ODI World Cup 2011, and Champions Trophy 2013. He has also led his IPL team CSK to 5 times IPL champion in 2010,2011,2018,2021 and 2023.

Dhoni has a large fan base not just because of his great cricket knowledge and leadership but for his calm nature too. Several cricketers have often said this in front of all.

MS Dhoni led the Indian team to their first ICC T20 title for the first in the opening session. He led India to win the ODI World Cup after 28 years. Sreesanth was also a part of that World Cup.

Former Indian Pacer and ICC World Cup 2007 star Sreesanth shared unheard tales about Former Indian Captain MS Dhoni. Sreesanth played a very crucial part in the ICC T20 World Cup 2007 and the ICC ODI World Cup 2011.

Very few fans know about the first meeting Sreesanth with MS Dhoni which happened during a domestic match between South Zone and East Zone in Dharmsala.

While chatting with Sportskeeda, Sreesanth recalled his first meeting with MS Dhoni which was organised by Anurag Thakur in Dharamsala.

“Yes, I met him for the first time during South Zone vs East Zone match in Dharamsala. It was the first first-class match in Dharamsala. He was not in the playing XI. Deep Dasgupta was the captain. He was playing as wicketkeeper batter,” Sreesanth said.

“Anurag Thakurji organized a dinner for the two teams. At that time, I spoke with MS Dhoni for the first time. We did not interact much during the four-day match because we were in different teams”, he added.

Recalling that moment Sreesanth said that Dhoni was not using his phone at that time. He also added that Dhoni stays away from the device even today and hardly picks up calls.

Former Indian Pacer Sreesanth said, “When I saw him at the dinner, he had long hair. He was sitting quietly in a corner. He was not talking with anyone. He did not use his phone much. Even today, if I call him now, it’s impossible that he will pick up.”

Sreesanth represented India in 27 Tests, 53 ODI, and 10 T20s. He took 87 wickets in Tests, 75 in ODIs, and 7 in T20i.
