For the second game in a row, Rajat Patidar scored a whirlwind fifty in IPL 2024 as his brilliant knock gave Royal Challengers Bengaluru's innings the much-needed impetus in the ongoing game against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.

Batting first, RCB were off to a quick start with Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis adding 48 runs in less than four overs. T Natarajan broke the stand by dismissing du Plessis for 25. The RCB skipper's dismissal slowed down the run-rate as RCB finished the powerplay on 61 for 1.

SRH further strengthened their grip on the game when Mayank Markande dismissed Will Jacks in the seventh over to reduce RCB to 66 for 2. RCB were in desperate need of a quickfire knock from one of their batters and Rajat Patidar rose to the occasion.

The right-handed batsman fired on all cylinders right from the start and completed his fifty in just 19 balls. The highlight of the knock was the way he took Mayank Markande to the cleaners and hit him for four sixes in a row. In the 11th over, the right-handed batsman went all out against the leg-spinner. After Virat Kohli took a single to give Rajat Patidar the strike, the RCB batter hit Markande for four sixes in a row.
