Despite being at the bottom of the IPL 2024 table, Royal Challengers Bengaluru's English batter Will Jacks believes the team can still reach the playoffs.

RCB is the only team in IPL 2024 to have won just a game from their 8 games home and away. The South-Indian outfit's only win of the season came almost a month ago when they defeated the Punjab Kings at the M. Chinnaswamy in a close encounter. Since then, Bengaluru has lost 6 games on the trot and Will Jacks has been a part of the team's last 3 defeats.

RCB is in dire need of a turnaround

Since their win against Punjab, Bengaluru has lost against Lucknow, Rajasthan, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and twice against Kolkata Knight Riders. In their previous game, RCB reached extremely close to the win but just couldn't seal their second of the season as KKR defeated them by just 1 run at Eden Gardens.

In the match before KKR, Faf du Plessis' side thrashed the highest-ever IPL score when the Sunrisers Hyderabad smashed 287 runs at the Chinnaswamy. Tonight, in their 10th league game, RCB will be taking on the Orange Army in a reverse fixture at the Rajiv Gandhi stadium just 10 days after leaking 287 runs.

If the RCB are unable to win tonight, then they will be mathematically out of contention from reaching the play-offs for the second in a row. The likes of Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Will Jacks among others need to fire together on all cylinders and hope for the bowling unit to turn up with their best performance yet.

Will Jacks feels Bengaluru can turn around their miserable season

While speaking to press reporters ahead of RCB's away game against SRH, Will Jacks sounded extremely positive.

The right-hand batter, who scored his first half-century of IPL 2024 against KKR 4 days ago, claimed that his side desperately needs to win a few games on the trot. If they do so, then Jacks believes that anything can happen for the South-Indians heading into the final stretch.

"We made a conscious effort to take wickets with the new ball. Hopefully, that will pay off. You never know, if we win a few matches and from there you never know what can happen." - Jacks told reporters in Hyderabad.

With RCB's chances of reaching the knock-out rounds looking bleaker than ever, Will Jacks' positive statement is a testament to the belief the team still contains.

Jacks reveals the winning formula against SRH

Will Jacks then hailed the Sunrisers Hyderabad for the way they are playing at the moment and claimed that they are high on confidence.

Jacks highlighted Hyderabad's three 260+ scores this season and to stop that, the Englishman suggested the bowlers take early wickets with the new ball. That, according to him, could be the winning formula against the Orange Army.

SRH is high on confidence. They scored three scores over 260. All the batters seem to be in form, and now they are playing at home. It is challenging to come here. If we restrict them to a par or below par score, we can win." - Jacks concluded.
