Former India pacer Varun Aaron has predicted what Yuzvendra Chahal might do in his upcoming face-off with Heinrich Klaasen later tonight.

Yuzvendra Chahal and Heinrich Klaasen will be squaring off later tonight when the Rajasthan Royals take on the Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2 of IPL 2024. While the Orange army are entering this match after losing the 1st qualifier on May 22nd against Kolkata Knight Riders, the Royals are coming after beating an in-form RCB team in the Eliminator match.

It will be an interesting contest between RR and SRH as both teams had finished 3rd and 2nd in the points table respectively. In their only meeting earlier this season, Hyderabad had come out on top against Rajasthan by an unbelievable margin of just 1 run. Bhuvaneshwar Kumar had used all his experience to stop Sanju Samson's side from getting the win

Varun Aaron feels Yuzvendra Chahal will be aiming for redemption against Klaasen

It was during their league stage meeting at the Rajiv Gandhi stadium where Heinrich Klaasen had literally thrashed Yuzvendra Chahal. Due to Klaasen's outrageous knock, Chahal had ended up with extremely poor figures of none for 62 from 4 overs at an economy rate of 15.50.

It went down as Yuzvendra Chahal's worst performance in IPL 2024 season and Varun Aaron believes that the leg-spinner will be hoping to take his revenge against Klaasen.

"It's an interesting one. I think Yuzi will want to redeem himself after the last game they played against each other. I think he went for 62 in his four overs. He is generally not used to going for so many runs, and he will have to come back from that," Varun Aaron said via ESPNcricinfo.

Aaron predicts Chahal's move against Heinrich Klaasen

Varun Aaron then predicted what Yuzvendra Chahal's game plan might be when he goes against Heinrich Klaasen. Aaron feels that Chahal will be aiming to bowl outside off-stump wide and slower deliveries. Aaron claimed that despite Chahal not turning the ball enough in IPL 2024, he will look to do it against Klaasen and provide him with no pace whatsoever.

The former RCB pacer also stated that if Chahal ends up bowling flat and full, then Heinrich Klaasen will, without a doubt, smack gigantic sixes again. Therefore, Aaron preferred Chahal bowling orthodox leg-spin deliveries without giving much pace and giving flight to the ball as he had been doing in the first half of the season.

Varun Aaron concluded by saying that the surface in MA Chidambaram stadium, tonight's hosting venue, will offer assistance to Chahal.

"Knowing Yuzi, he is just going to go wide to Klaasen, wide slow. One thing we have been talking about Yuzi is that he is not turning the ball enough. He will look to turn the ball to Klaasen. If he is going to bowl flat or full, which is what he has been doing, Klaasen is going to smack him."

"So he is going to have to resort to Chahal of the first half of the IPL, bring those parts back and actually turn the ball a little. The Chepauk might be the ideal place to start turning the ball," Varun Aaron concluded.
