Nissanka, who was in great form leading into the ODI series, failed to get going in the previous two matches and was dismissed early.

Madhushka, on the other hand, showed glimpses of form in the second match but wasn't able to convert stars into a big score.

The opening partnership will play a crucial role in the upcoming game, as batting hasn't been easy in this series so far.

Both batters will look to lay a platform for the incoming batters for them to capitalize on, as it is something Sri Lanka has failed to do.

Nissanka, in particular, will have to take the responsibility upon himself to guide the team to an above-par total, being one of the senior members of the team.

Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Kusal Mendis (wk), Kamindu Mendis, Charith Asalanka (c), Janith Liyanage, Wanindu Hasaranga, Milan Rathnayake

The opening pair will be followed by a middle order that is heavily dependent on experienced players like Kusal Mendis and captain Charith Asalanka.

The two batters have done their best to help the team in the first two matches, with Asalanka scoring a century in the first game and Mendis notching up a quick half-century in the last match.

Both Asalanka and Mendis would hope for other batters to give them good support in order to get the opposition under pressure, especially in the middle overs, as that is the time when batting becomes a bit difficult.

Lanka would wish for their middle and lower-order batters to form a valuable partnership to get 10-15 extra runs, which can prove to be handy while bowling second.

Bowlers: Maheesh Theekshana, Eshan Malinga, Asitha Fernando

Lanka is expected to go in with a lot of spinners at their disposal, like they did in the previous two matches, with fast bowlers also playing a part to the best of their abilities.

The responsibility will once again be on Wanindu Hasaranga, Kamindu Mendis, and Maheesh Theekshan to pick up wickets in the middle and death overs, as the lack of it was one of the reasons for Sri Lanka's loss.

Charith Asalanka will also back himself to bowl a few overs as he did in the last game, and was also able to pick up a couple of wickets.

Asitha Fernando and Eshan Malinga will handle the fast bowling department.
