After having hosted Team India for three ODIs and as many Twenty20 Internationals, Sri Lankan Cricket (SLC) is now gearing up to host South Africa for the limited-overs fixtures in September.

In an official press release, Sri Lankan Cricket, on Friday, announced that the Proteas will be traveling to the island nation to lock horns in three ODIs and three T20Is in September.

The three-match ODI series which will also be a part of the ongoing World Cup Super League will take place between September 2-7 in Colombo.

The ODI series will be followed by a three-match T20I rubber between September 10-14 at the same venue.

All the matches will take place under bio-secure protocols and behind closed doors.

The T20I series will be the last opportunity for both sides to beef up their preparations for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup in UAE and Oman.

Sri Lanka, who won the T20I series against India 2-1, will look to build on the momentum and seek a winning combination ahead of the T20 World Cup Qualifiers.

Sri Lanka have been placed in Group A alongside Ireland, Netherlands, and Namibia and they have to finish in the top-2 in order to qualify for the Super-12.
