It all comes down to the decider as Sri Lanka and India battle for the final leg of a topsy-turvy series. Sri Lanka bounced back in the 2nd T20I to level the three-match series after India beat them by 38 runs in the opening match. A victory in the third T20I, albeit against a depleted visiting side, would arguably do the hosts a world of good.

While Sri Lanka’s bowling unit has responded well in both games, it is their batting line-up that has still left plenty of questions unanswered. Chasing 133, the ninth-ranked side in the T20Is, were behind for the most part of the innings. If not for Chamika Karunaratne’s six in the second-last over, Sri Lanka might have lost by a narrow margin. Charith Asalanka’s addition could do them plenty of good, provided he recovers from his hamstring niggle.

India’s depleted batting line-up left them being overdependent on Shikhar Dhawan for a promising start. Though Dhawan, along with one of the four debutants, Ruturaj Gaikwad, provided it, the tourists could not capitalize on it. Sanju Samson’s returns with the bat were most disappointing, while his performance behind the stumps was underwhelming too. The fans will await another debut in the final T20I, with Navdeep Saini’s shoulder injury forcing him out of the fixture.
