Sri Lanka Women's Announce Squad For India Series, Chamari Athapaththu Set To Lead, Uncapped Rashmi de Silva, Kaushani Nuthyangana Included

On Monday, June 20 Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) announced a 19-member Sri Lanka Women’s National Cricket Team squad for the white-ball series against the India Women’s National Cricket Team and Chamari Athapaththu is set to lead the team while uncapped players Rashmi de Silva and Kaushani Nuthyangana have been included in the squad.
The T20I series between Sri Lanka and India will be played on June 23, 25 and 27 while the ODI series will be played on July 1, 4 and 7. The T20I series will be entirely played in Dambulla and the ODI series is scheduled to be held in Pallekele. Notably, the ODI series is part of the ICC Women’s Championships 2022-25.

Sri Lanka Women’s have made six changes to the squad that toured Pakistan as 4 players – Tharika Sewwandi, Vishmi Gunaratne, Sathya Sandeepani and Malsha Shehani – have received call-ups and 2 players – Prasadani Weerakkody and Sachini Nisansala – have been dropped from the team.
Talking about the India Women’s Team, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) named Harmanpreet Kaur as India’s One Day International (ODI) captain after the retirement of Mithali Raj and star batter Smriti Mandhana was named as her deputy.
