Australia star Steve Smith has registered himself for the IPL 2025 mega auction at the base price of INR 2 crore. The right-handed batsman has not played in the IPL since 2021 and will be hoping to get an IPL contract this year.

He had registered himself for the IPL last year as well but could not attract a single bid. Smith has represented a total of 4 teams in the IPL so far.

His journey began with the now-defunct Pune Warriors India in 2012. In his first two IPL seasons with the Pune-based outfit, Smith played 22 games and scored more than 400 runs.

In the next two seasons, he plied his trade for Rajasthan Royals. In IPL 2014, he played 10 games before playing 14 games in 2015 for the Rajasthan-based outfit.

After the Royals were suspended, Smith played for the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiant. In 2017, he also led the team and guided them to the final.

In 2019 and 2020, Steve Smith played for Rajasthan Royals once again before representing Delhi Capitals in 2021. Overall, he has played 103 games in the IPL and scored 2485 runs with the help of a century and 11 half-centuries.
