Sune Luus Jumps 7 Spots In Latest ICC ODI Rankings
South African skipper Sune Luus moved up seven spots in the latest ICC ODI Rankings for bowlers and all-rounders. She recently took 3/16 against Ireland in the first match of the 3-match ODI series.
She moved to the 39th spot on the list for bowlers and jumped a couple of spots in the all-rounder’s list to 13th. Her teammate, Shabnim Ismail continues to occupy the second spot after taking 3 wickets in the same game.
As for the batters rankings, Laura Wolvaardt dropped a spot after a failure in the first game. She is now behind Australian opener, Alyssa Healy in the fifth spot.
With regard to the T20I rankings, pacer Tumi Sekhukhune and spinner Nonkululeko Mlaba have achieved career-best rankings after the 3-game series against Ireland.
Sekhukhune took 3 wickets in the final game to total eight in the series and moved to 25th in the bowlers’ rankings. Mlaba jumped 13 places and is now in 42nd place.
Wolvaardt’s good performance in the T20I series saw her move to 20th on the batters rankings while Gaby Lewis from Ireland also moved up one spot to 22nd.
“In the rankings for bowlers, South Africa medium-fast bowler Tumi Sekhukhune is up two places to 25th after grabbing three for 20 while Nadine de Klerk and Nonkululeko Mlaba have reached 41st and 42nd positions after taking two wickets each,” the statement from ICC read.
