Legendary India opener has brutally slammed the former England cricketers Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain for questioning India's matches in Dubai in the ongoing Champions Trophy. Sunil Gavaskar has asked them to look at their own teams before making any comment on India.
Recently, Atherton and Hussain claimed that India have an "undeniable advantage" while playing all their matches on the same ground in Dubai which is helping them prepare for their matches in a better way.
The comments didn't go down well with Sunil Gavaskar and he decided to give them a brutal reply in his own way. He even claimed that India is also responsible for their salaries to an extent as they bring such a high amount of revenue to the world of cricket.

Sunil Gavaskar slams Michael Atherton, Nasser Hussain
During a conversation on India Today, Sunil Gavaskar was asked about the comments from Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain of the tournament being played in a hybrid model and India playing its share of matches in Dubai.
Gavaskar reminded the English experts of their own team's performance and even questioned their mental state. He asked Atherton and Hussain to look into their own backyard before commenting on Indian team.
"I think these are all wise and experienced people. Why don't you actually look at why your team has not qualified? That's what I was going to ask you, sir," the former India batter said.
"Rather than constantly focusing on India, are you even looking at your own backyard? Your players are in such a fragile mental state-they don't seem to care about results as long as they meet certain expectations," he added.
Sunil Gavaskar further asked them to care for their own country rather than complaining about the advantages that India have. He feels that there is no need to listen to such experts and India must carry on with what they are doing.
"You must care about results. You must care for your country, for any team you play for. If you are playing for your country, the responsibility is even greater," Gavaskar noted.
"All the time, they are moaning -- 'India has got this, India has got that.' It's constant. We must just ignore it. Let them keep mourning. We have better things to focus on. That is the kind of attitude you must have," he reckoned.
Experts' salaries are dependent on India - Sunil Gavaskar
Sunil Gavaskar didn't stop here and reminded everyone of India's position in world cricket. He claimed that a part of these experts' salary comes from India and it shows the role it plays in the cricketing world.
"They just cannot seem to understand where India stands in international cricket-in terms of quality, income, talent, and, more importantly, in terms of generating revenue," said Gavaskar.
"India's contribution to global cricket-through television rights and media revenue-plays a massive role. They need to understand that their salaries also come from what India brings to the world of cricket," the cricketer-turned-commentator added.
Why is India playing in hybrid model?
While all the other teams are playing in Pakistan, India are playing all their matches in Dubai. This is because the Indian government didn't give BCCI the permission to send their team to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy.
As a result, the ICC decided to hold the Champions Trophy in a hybrid model with India playing its matches in Dubai. India have already qualified for the semi-finals and will continue to play in Dubai.
Even if the Men in Blue qualify for the final, they will play in Dubai. If India doesn't qualify for the summit clash, the final, which is scheduled to be played on March 9, will be hosted by Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
