The biggest mockery came during live commentary when legendary Sunil Gavaskar openly questioned Akash Singh’s celebrations this season. He was not unhappy with the pacer’s aggressive attitude after the bowler struggled badly against the Rajasthan Royals’ explosive batting attack in Jaipur.

His celebration from that match also went viral online, where he pulled out a “chit-style” gesture after taking wickets. But things changed dramatically for the youngster in the very next match. He was smashed all over the ground and leaked 54 runs in just three overs against the Rajasthan Royals.
Even though he managed to dismiss Yashasvi Jaiswal, the RR batters attacked him mercilessly, especially Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The teenage sensation targeted the pacer and played fearless shots against him throughout the chase in Jaipur.

‘Where’s the chit now?’: Sunil Gavaskar mocks Akash Singh’s viral celebrations on live TV
During the brutal assault, Sunil Gavaskar could not hide his disappointment on commentary. The legendary cricketer mocked Akash Singh’s earlier celebrations and suggested that young players should stay grounded and humble because this format is so unpredictable.
Gavaskar said during the live match on air, “I am asking, ‘Where’s the chit now?’ Chit is in the pocket, right? You got six deliveries in an over—you get a wicket in maybe one ball. With five balls, you are being clobbered. He has given 48 runs in 17 deliveries.”
Interestingly, Akash Singh came up with another celebration after dismissing Yashasvi Jaiswal in Jaipur. This time, the pacer pointed towards his head and then raised his hand, showing his finger towards the sky, as he reminded fans of football star Marcus Rashford’s famous celebration.

Meanwhile, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was the star of the match for RR. Chasing a massive 221-run target, the teenage batter produced one of the most explosive innings of IPL 2026. The youngster smashed 93 runs off only 38 balls and amazed everyone with his fearless batting.

His unbelievable knock helped Rajasthan Royals chase down the huge target in just 19.1 overs with seven wickets in hand at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium. The victory has kept Rajasthan alive in the playoff race, while the Lucknow Super Giants are already out of contention.
LSG can end PBKS' playoff hopes
Even though LSG are no more in the playoff race, they can still spoil other teams’ playoff hopes. Their final league match is against Punjab Kings on May 23, and if they manage to stun them, it will be the end of last season’s finalists after six straight defeats in the ongoing IPL 2026.
