Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) head coach Chandrakant Pandit has provided a massive fitness update about Sunil Narine ahead of the game against Mumbai Indians (MI) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. He confirmed that the all-rounder is 100% fit and will be playing the next game.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are all set to lock horns with Mumbai Indians (MI) in their next game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. The match will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Monday (31st March).

Ahead of the game, Kolkata Knight Riders were mulling over the fitness of the all-rounder Sunil Narine. This is because the left-hander missed the last game against Rajasthan Royals in Guwahati after he was unwell and was replaced by Moeen Ali in the team.

But, in what was a massive boost, Sunil Narine was seen training with the team on Saturday (29th March). The Kolkata Knight Riders all-rounder was seen practicing range hitting in the nets and it gave a strong picture that he might be fit for the game against Mumbai Indians.

However, this was confirmed by the head coach of Kolkata Knight Riders Chandrakant Pandit. He mentioned that the all-rounder is fit and will be playing against Mumbai Indians.

He said: "Sunil Narine is 100 percent fit and recovered for the game against Mumbai Indians"

Sunil Narine is likely to walk straight into the XI for the game against Mumbai Indians

Narine is likely to walk straight into the XI for the game against Mumbai Indians. He is expected to replace Moeen Ali in the team. The former England all-rounder had a decent outing with the ball last game but unfortunately now will have to warm the bench.

Narine played the first game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Kolkata Knight Riders against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). The all-rounder played a vital hand for his team. He scored 44 runs off 26 balls while opening the batting and then returned with the figures of 1/27 in four overs.

Let us focus on tomorrow's game which is very crucial for us - Chandrakant Pandit.

Chandrakant Pandit also addressed the pitch issue at Eden Gardens, saying that as a coach and management they focus on playing on the kind of surface given to them. He admitted that control would be under the curator but his focus is on the next game. He added:

"See, as a coach, as a team management, we always, you know, whatever the surface has been provided to us, we play. The control, of course, will be under the curator. And at this moment, my, focus is definitely going to be on the next game tomorrow which we are playing.

"So, at the moment, I am definitely not thinking about what has to be done, what is in, whose control. But, let us focus on tomorrow's game which is very crucial for us."
