Mumbai batter Suryakumar Yadav is likely to follow the route of Yashasvi Jaiswal and change his state team. As per the reports in Times of India, it is learned that the India T20I skipper might also move to Goa as the talks between the two parties are underway.

On Wednesday (2nd April), Yashasvi Jaiswal shocked many after the reports emerged that the young batter had asked for NOC from Mumbai to play for Goa. However, now things have got even worse for Mumbai as Suryakumar Yadav might also follow the same path.

Suryakumar Yadav is playing a lead role in getting players to consider a move to Goa

Since the last few days, the Goa Cricket Association has been reaching out to several players to join them, especially after they were promoted to an elite group in the Ranji Trophy. After the talks were finalized with Yashasvi Jaiswal, they are in talks with Suryakumar Yadav now.

As per rumors, Suryakumar Yadav is playing a lead role in getting players to consider a move to Goa. This all but confirms that the T20I skipper of the India National Cricket Team will shift bases from Mumbai to Goa in the next edition of the domestic competitions.

Goa Cricket Association has contacted Tilak Varma as well

Suryakumar Yadav has been an integral part of the Mumbai team. The batter has played a massive role in the success of the team in all three formats, and him changing the state will leave a massive void in the Mumbai lineup, as they will be without their two key players.

Suryakumar Yadav has played 86 FC games and has slammed 5758 runs at an average of over 42 to go with 14 tons and 30 half-centuries. In the 144 List A games, he has hit 3665 runs and also has mustered over 8000 runs in the 312 games that he has played in the shortest format of the game.

The reports also claimed that the Goa Cricket Association has contacted Tilak Varma as well. The Hyderabad skipper also might feature for the new team from now on, and it will be a massive blow for his state. Although, there is no official confirmation the move is likely to happen.

We are currently in talks with many players from the country - GCA secretary Shambha Desai

Goa Cricket Association secretary Shambha Desai didn't reveal any name but claimed that they are in talks with many players from the country. He also talked about how they approached Yashasvi Jaiswal, adding that paperwork will be done in due course of time. He told TOI:

"We are currently in talks with many players from the country. I can't give you a name right now. We will be finalising other professional players soon."

"We reached out to Jaiswal some 8-10 days back, he got back to us after thinking over it and now that he has asked for a NOC, the formalities and the required paperwork will be completed," added Desai.
