India has been firing against New Zealand in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the Narendra Modi Stadium. An explosive start from the openers, Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma, scoring 92 in the powerplay. India has already gone past the score of 200 runs. The Kiwis are under immense pressure at the moment.
The Black Caps made a short comeback with Jimmy Neesham picking up three wickets in the 16th over and giving out just one run. In the same over, Suryakumar Yadav was the last man to be dismissed with Rachin Ravindra taking a brilliant catch. The Men in Blue were at a score of 220/4, as SKY’s wicket has backfooted the co-hosts.

Suryakumar Yadav focused more on licking BJP's boots and giving egoistic press conference than his batting. #T20WorldCupFinal

Captaincy quota saving Suryakumar Yadav harder than his bat ever saved India 🤡

It is another low score for captain Suryakumar Yadav in this T20 World Cup, and this is a golden duck. Out on the first ball. Suryakumar Yadav has just scored one fifty in the whole tournament and has been decent with the bat. But on the most important night, he failed.
However, India has gone past the score of 250 yet again. The Men in Blue scored 255/5 in their 20 overs. This is the third time that the team has gone past the 250 mark in a single edition of the competition. Previously, they scored against Zimbabwe in the Super 8 stages and later in the semi-final of the competition against England.
Sanju Samson stood up big for the India National Cricket Team, yet again, as this was his third consecutive fifty in the tournament. He was dismissed yet again on the score of 89 runs, failing to reach the three-figure mark. Abhishek Sharma took the chance of the big occasion and scored his second fifty.
Ishan Kishan also scored a fifty, and Shivam Dube gave India the finishing touch, scoring 26 off 8 balls. Coming out to chase New Zealand have been scoring at the same strike rate with 25 off two overs.
