Indian T20I Captain Suryakumar Yadav has provided an update on the Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who was ruled out of the final ODI due to an injured quadriceps. Reddy has recovered from the injury and is available for the T20I series against Australia.
The Indian team had lost the ODI series against Australia, but went away with several positives. They had their veteran batters hitting form, and the controversial selection of Harshit Rana was proven right as he emerged as India's most successful bowler.
However, they also experienced some unfortunate events, such as Nitish Kumar Reddy being ruled out of the final ODI due to an injury, which raised doubts about his participation in the T20Is. Moreover, Shreyas Iyer was almost fatally injured during the final game, but with God's grace, he has been revealed to be stable as per the latest reports.
Suryakumar Yadav's update on Nitish Kumar Reddy
As Suryakumar Yadav, the Indian T20I skipper, attended the press conference in Australia, he was questioned about Nitish Kumar Reddy's fitness status.
The reporter asked the skipper if Reddy is doing fine and if he is ready to be picked into the playing XI in Canberra. The skipper said that he is fit and is ready to take the field.
"I think he is doing fine. Yesterday, he did a bit of running and some batting in the nets. Today, he wanted to take a break, as it was an optional session. But we came to the ground since he had a team meeting and he wanted to stay with the group because all the guys in the T20 team have come in," said Suryakumar Yadav from the press conference ahead of the First T20I.

Suryakumar Yadav was asked if the Indian team is carrying forward the legacy and momentum from the Asia Cup campaign, which India won with utter domination. Suryakumar Yadav led the Indian side to win the multi-nation tournament.
"I think it's long gone now; it's been more than a month, but we regroup again. Together, we had 2-3 more days after the One-day guys came in. The team looks good, the atmosphere looks pretty good, and we had some fun on the ground in the last two days. We are really looking forward to this tournament," Suryakumar added.
Nitish Kumar Reddy or Shivam Dube - Who will be India's likely all-rounder in Canberra?
The India vs Australia 5-match T20I series is scheduled to start on the 29th of October in the Australian capital of Canberra. The Indian side will play only one of their T20I series in overseas conditions, while the rest of the games will be played at home.
Nitish Kumar Reddy has replaced Hardik Pandya in the side, and he will be part of the playing XI, possibly, but the major concern remains whether they will be placed alongside Shivam Dube in the team, or Dube, the World Cup winner, will be cited as the only all-rounder in the side.
