India National Cricket Team bowling legend Ravichandran Ashwin lashed out at T20I skipper Suryakumar Yadav and wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson after the conclusion of the IND vs ENG T20I series.

Ravichandran Ashwin criticized Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav for getting out in a similar fashion in all five matches of the recently concluded series against the Jos Buttler-led side.

Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav had a disastrous T20I series against England

India National Cricket Team clinched the five-match T20I series England National Cricket Team 4-1 as the hosts absolutely decimated the visiting team.

However, Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav played no role with the bat in India's win as the duo struggled throughout all five matches.

Samson's weakness against the quick and short balls haunted him, as in all five matches, England used the same tactic to dismiss him. In the first three matches, Jofra Archer cleaned him up with short balls targeted on the body, and in the last two matches, Saqib Mahmood and Mark Wood dismissed him with short-of-length deliveries.

His scores in five matches read - 26, 5, 3, 1 and 16. Ahead of the series, there were talks that Samson had cemented his place in T20Is, but after an awful outing in the England series and the tough competition from Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Abhishek Sharma, things might get tough for the Kerala superstar.

Talking about Suryakumar Yadav, he has been having an amazing run as the T20I skipper, having won all the series. However, there has been a massive dip in his form, which is a cause of huge concern for Team India.

Suryakumar Yadav registered scores of 0, 12, 14, 0, and 2 in five matches against England, and he had an average of under 6, getting dismissed while playing his reliable pick-up shot. Before that, he failed to deliver in the South Africa T20Is as well and has been at the receiving end of heavy criticism.

Sanju Samson and SKY getting out to the same ball, same field, same shot, same mistake - Ravichandran Ashwin

Speaking on his official YouTube channel, Ravichandran Ashwin expressed his disappointment over the repeated failures of Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav in a similar fashion.

He said that the dismissals of Samson and Suryakumar are 'not uncanny anymore' and they need to be better prepared to deal with the questions asked by the bowlers of the opposition team. Ravichandran Ashwin elaborated:

"Sanju Samson and SKY getting out to the same ball, same field, same shot, same mistake, same dismissal. I can understand it happening in 1-2 games, but this is not uncanny anymore. Players should play with freedom, but our batters need to have better answers to the same question."

But it is time he changed his approach to his batting - Ravichandran Ashwin

Ravichandran Ashwin lauded Suryakumar's captaincy but opined that he needs to change his approach and get back to form quickly.

"Of course, his captaincy has been really good in this series. His captaincy has been on point, too. But he can allow his batting some much-needed breathing space. Suryakumar Yadav is a very experienced guy. One could say he was at the forefront of a change of guard of sorts. But it is time he changed his approach to his batting," Ashwin said.

Ravichandran Ashwin, meanwhile, was mighty impressed with the batting display of Abhishek Sharma in the fifth T20I against England. Ravichandran Ashwin stated'

"This is a problem of plenty, not embarrassment of many. Why are we embarrassed when we have the riches? Let's use terms that best exemplify our bench. Of course, Jaiswal has a place in this team, but this innings by Abhishek Sharma would train all eyes on him. He's such a pretty-looking batsman who makes cricket look so easy on the eye. It will be tough to take our eyes off him."

Notably, Sharma smashed the second-fastest T20I fifty and hundred for India at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and finished with a score of 135 off 54 balls.
